Margo Spence
Margo Spence, MS, LSW, LICDC, is the President and CEO of First Step Home, Inc. First Step Home is a residential Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment Facility for women and their children. The agency houses 16 women in residential services and 18 in transitional housing. Ms. Spence was named Executive Director in 2001 after 14 years with Talbert House. Ms. Spence was named President and CEO of First Step Home in 2008

Her professional credits
include panel participation in London, England on the use of
Volunteers in Residential Programming.
She has held various leadership roles in local and state
organizations including: National Institute of Corrections
(Consultant, 1993), Hamilton County Corrections Planning Board
(2004), President of the Board of Trustees for Recovery Link
(03,04), Secretary and Treasurer of the Recovery Link (08, 09), and
currently serves as President of Recovery Link.
In July of 2009, Ms. Spence completed her fourth year term as
President of the Ohio Women’s Network of Alcohol, Tobacco and other
Drug Programs (OWN). Ms.
Spence is a founding member of OWN.
In November 2009 Governor Ted Strickland
appointed Ms. Spence as the Chair of the Council on Alcohol and Drug
Addiction Services for the State of Ohio.Her educational credentials
include a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati
and MS in Corrections from Xavier University. She is a Licensed
Social Worker, Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor
and holds an International Certified Clinical Supervisor Licensed.
